'Wick Defeats Hoosac at Hartong

Brunswick and Hoosac combined for 10 goals and 15 penalties -- with the Bruins ultimately prevailing by a score of 7-3 -- in a battle of former Division II rivals on Saturday evening at Hartong Rink. 

In 2007, in fact, when the Bruins were led by the dynamic duo of Justin Letizia (42 G-29A-71P) and Christian Oberbeck (36G-32A-68P), the Owls knocked off 'Wick in the NEPSAC semifinals before going on to win the title. 

It went in the Bruins' favor today, as the home team built a 6-1 lead through two periods and held on for its 10th league win of the season. 

Junior d-man Luc Lampert has his first two goals as a Bruin to highlight the scoring.

Too many penalties on both sides took away from any real flow to this one -- but 'Wick did what it needed to do tonight after grinding through a week of midterm exams.

Elite Hockey Academy -- our friends from the COVID year -- visits Hartong on Monday at 4 p.m in a non-league contest.
