Brunswick picked up a 2-1 home win over Kent on Saturday. The win is the third-straight for the Bruins (4-3-1).
Brunswick opened the scoring in the fifth minute, as Anthony Deosa played a nice ball from midfield to Kyle Raker. Raker put a low shot toward the left side of the Kent goal, as Nico Montoni finished the play with an easy tally for the 1-0 lead.
Minutes later the Bruins made it a 2-0 contest. Following Freddy Gazal’s long run down the left side, Gazal sent a cross to Raker. Raker booted a shot on goal that was momentarily stopped by the Kent goalie. Frank Carroll netted the loose ball in front of the Lions’ goal for the 2-0 lead.
In the 70th minute, Kent used a corner kick to set-up a nice header to slice the Brunswick lead to 2-1. The Lions had a few chances to tie the contest near the end of regulation, but the Brunswick defense turned away the threats to preserve the one-goal win.
