Brunswick secured a spot in the upcoming CISL State Championship, as the Bruins went 3-1 on their final day on the slopes on Mount Southington on Tuesday. William Kallman finished second overall on Tuesday, as the Bruins finished the regular season with a 14-10 record.
The Bruins top-six skiers finished with overall team-time of 295.66, topping Westbrook (DQ), Cheshire Academy (319.32) and Hopkins (311.40). The lone setback came from Wilton, as the Warriors finished with a time of 264.01.
Kallman’s first run (21.40) was the fastest opening run of the day, but Brunswick racer finished .05 seconds off the two-run pace set by a Darien skier. The second-place finish for Kallman is his highest podium finish of the season.
Brunswick will wrap-up team racing at the CISL State Championship on Tuesday, March 5.
However, Kallman and Jose Riera will have one final event, racing for Team Connecticut at the Eastern State Ski Championships, held at Attitash Mountain, in Bartlett, N.H., beginning on March 7.
