Crew—with its ethos steeped in hard work, sportsmanship and teamwork—serves well to match the ideals of the school. Brunswick’s rowing program strives to build character in each boy while providing a highly competitive athletic experience on the water.
Founded in 1998, the Brunswick School Boat Club has already achieved tremendous success, highlighted by the squad’s top American finish at Henley in 2009 and five top 10 finishes at the Head of the Charles in recent years. The program has produced many fine oarsmen, including dozens of top collegiate rowers (who have attended Berkeley, Columbia, Cornell, Georgetown, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale) and even a pair of Olympians.
The team boats out of Brunswick’s own rowing facility, the Falco Rowing Center, on the Mianus River in Cos Cob. In addition to the main spring racing season, a smaller group of rowers participate in the fall “head race” season.
