    2021 - 2022

In 15 seasons of Division I play, Brunswick’s hockey program has solidified itself as one of the most competitive high school programs in New England, securing 10 tournament berths across that span.

The Bruins captured the NEPSAC Large School Tournament championship in 2018, the school's first title at the Division I level, and earned bids to the Elite 8 in 2017, 2023, and 2024, when the team was seeded a program-ever-best third in the field.

At the collegiate level, in the past 20 years, ’Wick hockey alumni have laced up the skates for Harvard, Boston University, Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan, Dartmouth, West Point, Northeastern, Yale, North Dakota, Holy Cross, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Colby, Middlebury, Trinity, Williams, Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Amherst, and Hobart.

In the past 20 years, five hockey alumni have been selected in the NHL Draft. Hugh Jessiman ’02 was selected in the 1st Round in 2003 and is retired from playing professional hockey. Kevin Shattenkirk ’07, who spent his freshman and sophomore years at Brunswick before playing for the United States National Team Development Program, was selected in the 1st Round in 2007. The Stanley Cup winner is now a member of the Boston Bruins. John Hayden ’13, who followed Shattenkirk’s track, was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 3rd Round of the 2013 draft. He captained Yale University during his senior year in 2017 and is currently playing in the Seatle Kraken organization. Phil Kemp '17, who also played for the USNTDP and captained Yale, was drafted in the 7th round of the 2017 draft by the Edmonton Oilers and plays for their AHL affiliate in Bakersfield, Calif. Cooper Moore '19 was chosen in the 5th round of the 2019 draft by the Detroit Red Wings and is now playing collegiately at Quinnipiac University.

Greg Squires '07 played professionally for more than a decade after playing at Western Michigan University. Luke Esposito '12, a Brunswick captain and four-year letterman at Harvard, is now a member of the Augsburger Panther in the German Hockey League. And Strauss Mann '17, who captained the University of Michigan as a junior and represented the United States in the Olympics and Men's World Championship, is playing professionally for the Laval Rocket (AHL).

All Brunswick hockey home games are held at Hartong Rink on Edwards Campus on King Street. All inquiries about the program should be directed to Head Coach Mike Kennedy (mkennedy@brunswickschool.org).
