Silver and Bronze for Brunswick at Head of the Schuylkill
At the 47th Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia on Sunday, Brunswick rowers wrapped up the fall season with an individual silver as well as a Varsity Eight bronze against a talented field of rowers from around the region.
Individually, Christian Ruf took second place against a field of 45 competitors that finished the course. Ruf’s time of 16:05.493 trailed only one rower from nearby Germantown Friends School.
The Varsity Eight earned a bronze, missing a second-place finish by 1.218 seconds, as the Bruins finished the course in 13:00.899. For the fall season, this was Brunswick’s best finish against similar opponents.

The 2V boat, stroked by Ben Shore, came in 25th out of 62 boats in the same event as the 1V boat.
The Novice squad had another outstanding performance with both boats finishing in the top half of the event. They took 4th and 18th out of 49 boats in that category.
The 3V and 4V, racing in the Second Eights category, took 18th and 46th of 65 teams, respectively.
