Water Polo Sweeps Season Series Against Greenwich High
Brunswick topped Greenwich High School by a 6-3 margin to kick off Homecoming festivities inside Mehra Natatorium on Friday night. The victory secures a season-series sweep for the Bruins over the Cardinals, as Brunswick (18-2) topped the Cardinals by a 7-5 margin earlier this month.
After opening up a 2-0 lead after the opening quarter, Brunswick extended its lead to 4-1 at the break.
The Bruins netted the lone goal of the third quarter before adding their final goal in the fourth to build a 6-1 lead.
The Cardinals tacked on a pair of goals in the final 90 seconds of the game to cap the score at 6-3.
Thacher Scannell and Keegan Drew led the Bruins with two goals apiece, as Scannell also grabbed a game-high six steals. Simon Derby chipped in a goal and five steals, while Kyle Yelensky netted a goal and Nico Apostolides added three steals. Brunswick goalie Christian Hartch made eight saves to secure the win.
Brunswick stays in Mehra Natatorium for its next game, hosting Hopkins on Wednesday, November 1.
