Brunswick’s Nick Boardman broke a scoreless tie against Kent in the 77th minute on Saturday, netting the eventual game winner for the 1-0 win on Caputo Field. The Bruins, winners of three games in a row, head to Trinity-Pawling on Wednesday, October 11.
Brunswick (3-4-1) had a number of scoring chances in the first half, including a pair of last-minute near misses on the Lions’ net. In the waning seconds following a nifty save by the Kent keeper, the ensuing corner kick by the Bruins hit the post as the half ended.
Following the intermission, Boardman's eventual game-winner started with a midfield run from Aidan Williams. Boardman got the ball and worked through the Kent defense before besting the Kent goalie with a low shot to the right.
Despite a quiet first half, Brunswick goalie Harry Barringer picked up a trio of saves in the last 20 minutes of the game.
