Brunswick opened the 2017 season with a decisive 15-3 road victory over Exeter on Saturday. The inaugural game of the season was a rematch of the final contest of 2016, as the Bruins topped Exeter 13-4 in the NEPSAC Championship game last November.
Eight different players scored for Brunswick en route to the double-figure victory, and goalie Christian Hartch made seven saves for the three-time reigning NEPSAC title-winning squad.
Keegan Drew opened up the game with a pair of tallies in the first quarter, while Simon Derby added a goal in the final seconds of the frame.
Leading 3-0 to start the second quarter, the Bruins tacked on five more goals to take an 8-0 lead into the half. Tate Robinson opened the second quarter with two goals, including a nice finish off a feed from Thacher Scannell during a man-up. Drew followed with two more goals, with both tallies set up by Nico Apostolides. Gavin Molloy’s first goal capped the five-goal quarter.
Holding an 8-0 lead to start the second half, the Bruins cruised to the 15-3 finish.
Brunswick returns to the pool on Saturday, September 16, traveling to Choate to face both Deerfield and Williston Northampton.
