Bruins Take Bronze at Western New England Invitational
Brunswick wrapped up the 2017 season with a third-place finish at the Western New England Invitational, held at Bull's Bridge GC in South Kent, Conn., on Wednesday. Ben Carpenter tied for overall medalist with an even-par 72, as the Bruins finished five strokes behind second-place Loomis Chaffee (383) and 11 shots back of the champions from Taft (377).
Matthew Camel and Matty Dzialga both shot 78, followed by matching 80’s by Connor Belcastro and Thomas VanBelle. Charlie Marvin carded an 83.
Carpenter was two-over after three holes, but played the next fifteen holes in two-under to finish at even par on the challenging Bull’s Bridge layout.
The tournament caps an impressive season for the Bruins, as the squad finishes 2017 with an overall record of 23-6.
