Debate and Resolution: 'Wick Team Earns Honors at Invitational

Brunswick’s Upper School debate team took home a host of awards from the Choate Invitational Tournament on January 8.

In both the novice and advanced division, the event featured three rounds of parliamentary extemporaneous debate with straight resolutions.

For Brunswick, the team of Ryan McMurchy ’19, Gordon Kamer ’18, Bobby Carangelo ’17, and Reid Robbins ’17 earned second place in the Novice Four-Person Team Division — with the duo of McMurchy and Kamer also placing second in the Novice Two-Person Team Division.

Kamer won first prize in the Novice Speaker Division to help boost ’Wick to a second-place finish overall at the Invitational.
