Science Guys: Liberty Science Center Visits Lower School
Brunswick boys were treated to a three-ring science circus on Friday, September 25, as experts from Liberty Science Center (LSC) visited the Lower School for a morning of hands-on learning and experimentation.
LSC called on hosts of eager and enthusiastic Bruins to act as volunteers during the program, which highlighted three science “rings” of electricity, air pressure, and the states of matter.
Boys explored the positives and negatives of static electricity, the sub-zero temperatures of liquid nitrogen, and the structure of an atom along their hour-long science journey.
They saw hair “dance,” a soda can “crushed,” and rice krispies “jump” — and served as human conductors and thermometers.
Above all, they learned that, to be a good scientist, you need to perform experiments — over and over again.
