Fraser ’16 Sweeps to Silver at National Science Fair
Angus Fraser ’16 returned to Brunswick with a Silver Medal in the Energy Category after participating in I-SWEEEP, The International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering, and Environment) Project, held May 7–10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
ISWEEEP, the largest science fair event of its kind world-wide, maintains the mission to create a collaborative yet competitive environment in which students can present their innovative ideas on today’s challenges in energy, engineering, and the environment — working to create a more sustainable world for tomorrow.
Nearly 700 students — from 71 countries and 44 states — gathered to show off their projects to expert judges, fellow participants, and interested observers.
Fraser, a junior in Science Chair Dana Montanez’s Honors Science Research II Seminar and the first Brunswick student ever to attend the event, was recognized for his project Revolutionizing a 16th-Century Product for the Modern World: A Thermoelectric Chair that Creates Energy from Human Body Heat.
