Middle School "Mathletes" Move on to State Tournament

Middle School students William Frauen ’19, Christian Hartch ’19, and Kevin Tu ’20 qualified for the state MATHCOUNTS competition to be held at the University of Hartford on March 14.
 
The MATHCOUNTS Foundation strives to engage middle school students of all ability and interest levels in fun, challenging math programs, in order to expand their academic and professional opportunities.
 
After distinguished performances in last weekend's chapter tournament at Fairfield University — where participants were tested in a number of mathematical challenges — Frauen, Hartch, and Tu were among 12 Greenwich students to advance to the state championships.
 
The competition will be sponsored by the Connecticut Society of Professional Engineers.
