Before recessing for Thanksgiving, Brunswick students — of all divisions — gave back to the community in the spirit of the holiday.
Upper and Middle School advisories donated more than 180 Thanksgiving baskets — each with all of the traditional necessities — to local organizations, churches, and homeless shelters, including Pacific House, Inspirica, and Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester, N.Y.
In the Lower School, boys collected canned goods — approximately 1,300 items in all — for The Lower Fairfield County Food Bank. Special recognition goes to the 2nd-grade class for having the largest collection.
And finally, the youngest Bruins took part in a Thanksgiving Food Chain, passing goods down the stairs of the Pre School before donating them to people in need.
