The varsity tennis team earned a big road win, 6-1, against a solid Taft team on Wednesday afternoon.
Although, the Bruins' #4 was sitting out with injury, it was balanced out when Taft's #6 needed to sit out after the warm-up and be replaced.
With strong doubles performances by our #2 and #3 doubles teams, the boys were able to secure the valuable doubles point to take the lead going into the singles.
The singles matches all began very competitively. One of the highlights was #1 Will Monahan, who was coming straight from an A.P. exam in the morning. He went down 5-2 in the first set and then reeled off 5 straight games to take the first set. With all the Bruins capturing the first set, the outlook was good. Eventually, Brunswick would clinch after #5, #2 and #1 won in straight sets. At 4-0, we would win two more singles matches and then only lose the last one in a super tiebreaker.
