Bruins Stay the Course, Move Record to 12-1

The golf team successfully plotted its way around challenging Apawamis Club and took five of six individual matches while winning the five-score aggregate by 18 strokes over host Rye Country Day in improving its record to 12-1 Monday.

Led by freshman standout Jack Chung's even-par 36 and followed by senior stalwarts Matteo Santulin (38) and tri-captain Harry Bonomo (39), the Bruins were able to navigate the blind shots and compact, undulating greens at the venerable 1899 layout that Ben Hogan once called, "The toughest short course I have ever played."

Juniors Will Harned (40) and James O'Connor (42) rounded out the scoring for the 195 five-score aggregate and sub-40 individual 39 average, along with match-winner freshman Henry Graham (44).

'Wick is next in action on Tuesday for Senior Day when it visits the Milbrook Club to take on Greenwich Country Day School in its final match of the regular season.
