Bruins Edge Cats in Cheshire

Brunswick scored to reclaim the lead with 5:52 remaining and got a huge stop from its defense on the following possession to earn a 22-19 New England Prep Conference win over Cheshire Academy on Friday night up Route 84 in central Connecticut. 

Senior running back Riley Redahan found the endzone on the ground from 16 yards out for the go-ahead touchdown — and senior cornerback Jackson Wolfram picked off the Cats’ QB two plays later to seal the game and give the ball back to the 'Wick offense to run out the clock. 
 
The Bruins’ offensive attack was led by junior quarterback Elijah Cromartie and junior running back Bryce Davis. Cromartie was 18/27 for 194 yards and one touchdown. Davis sparked the ground game, gaining 152 yards on 27 carries.

The Bruins’ offense had 371 total yards of offense — 194 yards passing and 177 yards rushing. They were 8-13 on third down (62%) and 2-2 on key fourth-down situations. 

Senior WR Jason Agudelo had a career high 10 catches for 108 yards.

Brunswick (6-1) will host Avon Old Farms on Saturday at 6 p.m. on Cosby Field.
