Burdett Wins Javelin, Bruins Compete at New England Meet
Brunswick competed at the New England Track and Field Championship on Saturday at St. Paul’s School in Concord, N.H.
While limited by injuries and conflicts, the team saw personal best performances by Mac Brooks and Nick Tchkotoua in the 300 hurdles, Luke James in the 200, and Caleb Boateng in the 400.
By far the biggest effort of the day, though, came from John Burdett, who on his last attempt, took first place in the Javelin with a school record throw of 166’10” — 20 feet longer than his best coming in to the meet.
As a team, Brunswick placed 11 out of 14 teams — with Deerfield, Phillips Exeter, and Phillips Academy taking first, second, and third, respectively.
