Brunswick Tennis Wins at Hoosac

Brunswick traveled to Hoosac on Saturday with a less experienced roster and pulled out a 5-2 win.

The Bruins were missing a portion of its roster due to injuries and other conflicts, but the mid-roster players were keen for the challenge and willing to test their mettle. Hoosac was also missing its #1, which helped to balance the playing field.

After earning the doubles point, the team stood a good chance to win singles matches at the top. After winning at #1 and #2, the Bruins then lost at #4 and #5. Brunswick needed one more win from either co-captain Edward Nagler at the #3 spot or rookie freshman Jack Sieg at #6. Nagler would eventually show tremendous grit to eke out a hard-fought match and clinch the victory. Sieg also pulled out a comeback win to make it 5-2.
