A Time for Reflection

On this day of sadness, as George Floyd is laid to rest, Brunswick, along with much of our nation, joins in commencing a period of extended reflection and resolve. Following many reaffirming and forward-looking conversations last week, we are beginning this reflective process today as Headmaster Tom Philip and our diversity team meet with faculty of color. Tomorrow, they will meet with students of color from the Class of 2020.

As we take stock, reassess, listen, and learn, we welcome thoughts, ideas, and reflections from all in our school community — students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni alike. Anyone wishing to share thoughts and perspectives is encouraged to email:

We plan to consider any and all reflections with care and, as the summer progresses, to use what we learn to further inform our diversity and inclusion efforts as we move forward.

Thank you.
