Hockey Dominates in Home Opener

Brunswick opened a 4-0 first-period lead over visiting Portledge, as the Bruins posted a 9-2 win over the Panthers on Wednesday in Hartong Rink. The nine goals are the most by a Brunswick team since February 18, 2015 when the Bruins posted a 9-5 win over Albany Academy.

The home win extends Brunswick's unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1), as the Bruins improve to 4-2-1 on the season.
 
Eight different players netted at least one goal, as Matthew McGroarty netted two markers for Brunswick. Beanie Richter led the squad with one goal and two assists, as seven other Bruins added one assist.
 
Brunswick goalie Brendan Holahan made 14 saves, playing all 54 minutes of action in a debut performance for the Bruins.
