Brunswick picked up a decisive win on Cosby Field on Friday, besting EFI Academy by a 5-1 margin. The victory is the fifth straight for the Bruins (6-3-1).
Brunswick took a 2-0 lead before the half, as Kyle Raker and Freddy Gazal netted first-stanza markers for the Bruins.
In the second half, Raker notched another goal in the 53rd minute, sending in a rebound tally following a shot by Patrick Keller.
Trailing 3-0, EFI Academy answered quickly with its lone goal of the contest.
Following the visitors’ marker, Brunswick added the final two goals of the contest. Gazal notched the fourth goal of the game for the Bruins, finishing off a feed from Anthony Deosa in the 57th minute. Malik Samms made it a 5-1 contest two minutes later, driving in a shot from 20 yards out following a set-up by Keller. The tally was Samms’ first-ever goal for Brunswick.
Brunswick goalie Eric Meindl made one save in the first half, while teammate Andrew Breckenridge posted four saves in the second half.
