Brunswick and Greenwich Academy students united in Baker Theater for a special presentation by Mike Domitrz, the founder of The Center for Respect, which conducts trainings for tens of thousands each year in middle schools, high schools, universities, and military installations around the world, on Monday, September 23.
Domitrz, along with the team at The Center for Respect, has created multiple educational resources including curriculum, a poster series, clothing to heighten awareness, an online training center, books, a DVD for parents, and more.
He presented an interactive and thought-provoking program — often bringing Upper School boys and girls to the stage as volunteers and participants — that focused on the Center’s mission to provide clarity and solutions, and to teach precise “How To” skills each person can implement for creating a culture of respect every day.
“Today’s been about choices,” Domitrz said. “Will you ask first? Will you intervene? Will you be there when a loved one survives?
“The only choices that matter now are the ones you make when you leave this room.”
