Four Brunswick seniors were announced on Wednesday, Sept. 11, as semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program, joining 16,000 other students nationwide.
The group of semifinalists — Nicholas Dow, Pierce Henderson, Jamison Meindl, and Nicholas Wolanske — all entered by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
All semifinalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.
“These boys are truly accomplished scholars and fine young men, and they make Brunswick proud as they pursue their academic endeavors with dedication, intelligence, and curiosity,” Headmaster Thomas W. Philip said.
“We are thrilled with their well-deserved recognition.”
