PK Cubs - Spring

Cubs is an optional activity time for Pre-­K boys on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 11:45 am -­ 2:45 pm. Parents may enroll their sons for one or both days each week. Participants bring their own lunch, but milk is provided.

Give & Go Basketball

The Give-And-Go program aims to develop and refine skills such as shooting, passing, footwork, and ball-handling. For the earliest athletes, Give-And-Go focuses on getting kids comfortable on the court while improving basic motor skills such as jumping, running, and sliding.  Give-And-Go also offers a chance to apply the skills they’ve learned in timed games.  Campers will be coached by current high school players and all instruction is taught by high school basketball coaches.
Overview:
Individual Skill Work, Group Skill Work, Games

Equipment:
Campers should wear athletic pants and sneakers (preferably basketball sneakers), Water Bottle

MS Swim Clinic

This class is for the Middle School student who would like to improve their swim skills. The class will work on improving all four strokes as well as diving. This would be a great workout for those who would like to be on a team or get ready for one in the future.

Classes will be 30 minutes each. All parents are responsible for drop off/pick up before and after swim class. Swimmers are required to bring swimsuit and towel. LS Swim Lessons Beginner/Intermediate

For the student who is unable swim independently or can only swim ½ of the length of the pool without assistance. Class will focus on improving front crawl and backstroke as well as instilling confidence.

Classes will be 30 minutes each. All parents are responsible for drop off/pick up before and after swim class. Swimmers are required to bring swimsuit and towel. Goggles are optional. LS Swim Lessons Intermediate

For the student who can swim freestyle for 1 length of the pool, float on their back and tread water. Class will work on improving freestyle, backstroke, diving and introduce breaststroke.

LS Stroke Technique Clinic

Student must have knowledge of Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke. Class will help swimmer build endurance and refine their strokes.

Learn to Skate

The Learn-to-Skate Clinic is designed to make young skaters enthusiastic about learning to skate in an atmosphere that promotes fun while learning the basic techniques of skating. (Balance, falling and standing, marching and stopping).

The goal of the program is for our skaters to gain confidence and acquire fundamental skating skills to seamlessly transition into competitive ice-skating sports, such as ice hockey or figure skating, in their future. Generally for ages 4-7. For more information, please contact Audrey Onsdorff (AOnsdorff@brunswickschool.org).

Online registration is required and enrollment will be limited to 20 skaters. Skaters will need to have their own skates, helmet, and some type of gloves and must dress warmly in long sleeves and pants.

Beginner Hockey Program

The Basic Hockey Program is designed for beginners and basic skating skills are helpful. The program will be directed by a select group of qualified coaches and hockey fundamentals will be covered.

Enrollment will be limited and registration is required. Priority will be given to skaters who are beginners. All players must be suited by 8:30 a.m. Parents should arrive promptly at 9:30 a.m. to assist the players when they exit the ice.

Full hockey (no lacrosse) equipment is required: skates, pants, hockey helmet with face mask, stick, hockey gloves, elbow and shoulder pads, shin guards, hockey socks, cup and supporter (jerseys are supplied).

Friday Hockey

These sessions are for experienced hockey players in grades 7 and 8. There will be a variety of 3 v 3 or 4 v 4 small-area games, (either cross ice or using 2/3 or the ice). These sessions will be geared toward fun and the development of hockey skills and concepts.

The games will be non-contact, but players are required to wear full hockey gear. Skaters must bring their gear to school so that they can quickly change after classes end. Lunch is not provided for the participants, so the students should bring a snack to eat beforehand.
