Hockey Battles Back to Beat Rivers

Trailing by two goals to Rivers in the first half, Brunswick fought back to top the Red Wings by a 3-2 margin in the second day of the St. Sebastian’s Holiday Tourney on Saturday. The win propels the Bruins into the consolation finals against Williston Northampton on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

Following a quick opening tally, Rivers notched a 5x3 power-play goal with 15 minutes left to play in the first of two 25-minute sessions.

Facing a 2-0 hole, Brunswick finished the opening frame with two goals to tie the contest. Aaron Aboodi scored his second goal in as many days with a power-play goal with 10 minutes left in the first half, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Aboodi set-up the tying goal on a feed to Cooper Moore (9th goal) two minutes later.

In the second half, the Bruins took their first lead on a power-play tally by Ryan St. Louis (4th goal) nine minutes into the frame.

The Brunswick defense made the one-goal lead stand, as goalie Dan Dachille turned away the rest of the Red Wing shots down the stretch for the 3-2 win.
