Brunswick trailed Masters at the half, 41-25, and fell the to the Panthers in an FAA road game on Tuesday, 70-57. The setback was the first of the season for the Bruins (1-1, 0-1).
In the first half, the hosts knocked down 20-26 free throws, while the Bruins were just 1-2 from the charity stripe. That 19-point discrepancy helped Masters build its 16-point cushion heading into the intermission.
Trailing by double-digits to start the second half, the Bruins cut the deficit to eight points with about three minutes on a Khari Wilson basket. Brunswick could not get any closer down the stretch, as the Panthers countered with a 10-2 run to regain a double-digit buffer.
Wilson led the Bruins with 20 points, while Henry Caponiti netted a career-best 16 points.
Brunswick travels to Phillips Exeter to play three games over two days at the Seacoast Classic, beginning on Friday, December 14.
