Brunswick topped Westminster by a 2-1 margin on Saturday in Hartong Rink. The victory was the first of the season for the Bruins (1-2-2).
Following a scoreless first period, Brunswick netted a pair of goals in the second period on tallies by Paul Davey and Henry Hill. Hill’s power-play goal from the blue line made it a 2-0 lead for the Bruins with 12:22 left in the frame.
With 6:31 left in the second period, Westminster trimmed the deficit to 2-1 on a doorstep rebound goal.
Trailing 2-1 late in the third, Westminster pulled their goalie for an extra skater in the final minute. With 10 seconds left, the Martlets put some pressure on the Brunswick net, but Brunswick goalie Dan Dachille made his 32nd and final save of the day on the potential equalizer.
Brunswick returns to action with a game against Northwood at the St. Sebastian’s Tourney on Friday, December 14.
