Kent scored the game-winning goal with a minute to play in overtime, as the Lions topped Brunswick on Wednesday, 3-2, in Hartong Rink. The Bruins (0-2-2) return to action on Saturday, December 8, with a home game against Westminster.
Brunswick got on the board in the first period on a Matthew McGroarty goal set up on a nice centering pass from Aaron Aboodi, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at midway through the frame.
Kent countered three minutes later, as Alex Laferriere netted the first of his three goals, tying the game at 1-1 on a four-on-three power-play.
Laferriere made it a 2-1 contest late in the second period with his second goal with 1:21 left.
Brunswick’s Cooper Moore tied the game at 2-2 nearly two minutes into the third period, scoring his eighth goal of the season with a lefty wrister from the right circle.
In the extra session, the third overtime game in four contests for Brunswick, the Lions ended it on a rebound tally by Laferriere.
