Kimball Union broke a 3-3 tie against Brunswick on Sunday at the Exeter Invitational with a four-goal run, as the perennial New England power Wildcats skated away with a 7-3 win. Cooper Moore netted two goals for the Bruins (0-1-2), upping his team-leading total to seven tallies on the season.
Brunswick took an early lead on a Moore marker at 7:11 of the first period. The Wildcats (3-1-0) answered with two goals in the frame, as Moore bookended the Kimball Union burst with his second goal of the game on a power-play goal with 2:25 left in the first period.
In the opening minute of the second period, the Wildcats broke a 2-2 game with a shorthanded goal.
Brunswick netted the equalizer on another power-play, as Michael Salandra scored his second goal of the year at 5:12. Kimball Union answered with a go-ahead goal midway through the second period.
Leading 4-3, the Wildcats closed out the game with three third-period goals for the 7-3 win.
Up next, the Bruins host Kent on Wednesday, December 5, in Hartong Rink. The Lions (1-1-0) knocked off New Hampton on Sunday at the Exeter Invitational.
