Cross Country Takes Second at FAA Championships

Brunswick finished second at the FAA Championships, held at Sherwood Island on Monday, snapping a six-year run of team titles by the Bruins dating back to 2012.

Hopkins took first-place with 19 team points, followed by Brunswick (86), Masters (101), Greens Farms (105), Rye CDS (110), King (116) and St. Luke’s (133). The Hilltoppers took the top four spots at the finish, as the Bruins’ Kyle Raker was fifth.

Raker picked up his second All-FAA award following his top-10 finish. Raker earned an all-league nod with a sixth-place result at last year’s FAA Championships.

Two Bruins finished in the top 20, as Matty Goodman (11th) and Chris Ramos (18th) were each awarded FAA Honorable Mention recognition. For Ramos, this was his second-straight honorable mention selection.

Charlie Garland (22nd) and Charlie Ciporin (30th) rounded out the five scoring runners for Brunswick. Ryan Heinzerling (32nd) and Ali Hindy (39th) each followed with top-40 results.
