Soccer Win-Streak Hits Five with 5-0 Victory

Brunswick picked up a 5-0 win over visiting EF International Academy on Cosby Field on Friday night. Five different Bruins scored in the Homecoming win, as Brunswick (5-3-2) has won five games in a row.

 

EF International took a good shot at getting on the board early on, as the visitors summoned a solid attack in the sixth minute of play. The Storm made a few passes from midfield to get to the Brunswick 18 and put a solid shot on goal. However, Brunswick’s goalie Eric Meindl (four saves) turned away the shot with a dive to his left, directing the ball outside the post.

 

Following the stellar stop, the Brunswick offense came alive, scoring two quick goals.

 

In the 14th minute, Brunswick’s Ben Israel earned possession near midfield and took on two defenders. Israel found an opening in the EF International defense and launched a scoring shot from 25 yards out to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.

 

A minute later, Chinai played a corner kick brilliantly towards the front post that Aidan Williams headed home for a 2-0 advantage.

 

The Bruins made it a 3-0 game a few minutes into the second half, as Chinai scored following a brilliant sequence of action. PK Keller played a nice through ball from midfield down the right sideline to Nico Montoni. Montoni took on a defender and cut back to find Chinai at the 6, as Chinai kicked home the one-timer.

 

The Bruins added two late goals, including a tally by Harry Barringer in the 80^th minute. Brunswick netted the final goal five minutes later, as Christian Barnard found Chisom Okpara for an easy marker to cap the scoring.
