Soccer Boots Trinity-Pawling

Brunswick netted five first-half goals and rolled past visiting Trinity-Pawling on Wednesday, 6-0. The win is the fourth-straight victory for the Bruins (4-3-2).

Brunswick scored three times in the first 13 minutes of play, as the Bruins took a commanding 3-0 lead. Brunswick closed out the first half with two more tallies to secure a 5-0 advantage.

Chisom Okpara opened the scoring for the Bruins with a pair of goals. Okpara’s first marker was in the seventh minute, as the freshman netted his second goal four minutes later.

In the 13th minute, Brunswick’s PK Keller fed Harry Barringer for the third goal of the game. Barringer bested the T-P keeper nearside on his breakaway shot.

AJ Delgado made it 4-0 after a tough battle along the right sideline in the 26th minute. Delgado played a cutback pass into the six that deflected off a T-P defender and into the back of the net.

Nine minutes later, Ben Powers played a long ball from Brunswick’s defensive third that found Barringer just outside the 18. Barringer placed a nice pass to Nico Montoni, who one-timed it in the back of the net for a 5-0 lead.

In the second half, John Dunn took a throw-in near midfield and directed a pass to Barringer. Barringer took the ball to the T-P 18 and made a smart move towards the T-P goal and blasted a goal-scoring shot that slipped in just under the crossbar.

Brunswick goalie Eric Meindl made a pair of saves in net for the Bruins.

The Bruins return to action with a Homecoming game against EF International Academy on Friday night on Cosby Field.
