Brunswick picked up a 12-4 win against Berkshire on Senior Day on Cosby Field on Saturday. The Bruins (16-1, 10-1), currently ranked third nationally in the latest Inside Lacrosse/Under Armour poll, now own at least a share of the New England West 1 title with Salisbury, as the Scarlet Knights have one league loss with one conference game remaining.
In the first quarter, Berkshire took a 2-1 lead on the Bruins with a transition goal at 7:01. Brunswick countered with a five-goal run that extended into the second quarter, as the hosts took a 7-2 lead at the break. Cooper Moore and senior Xander Dickson each netted two goals during the first half burst for Brunswick.
The Bears scored the lone goal in the third quarter, as the Bruins answered with the first three tallied in the fourth frame to build a 10-3 lead with 9:47 left. Seniors Harrison Caponiti and Jack Montinaro opened the scoring during the run, as Owen Matthews netted the final goal of the scoring spurt.
Following a Berkshire goal at 3:55, the Bruins closed out the game with tallies by seniors Greyson Wolfram and Hugo Gorman for the 12-4 final.
