Lacrosse Rolls Over Greenwich High School

Brunswick picked up its sixth double-digit win of the season on Friday night, as the Bruins dispatched in-town foe Greenwich High School on Cosby Field, 17-5. The non-league win boosts Brunswick’s overall record to 8-0, as the Bruins, ranked third in the nation, return to league action with a home game against Hotchkiss on Saturday, April 21.

 

Four different Bruins scored to open the game, as a goal by Greenwich capped the first quarter scoring.

 

Leading 4-1, Brunswick extended its lead to 7-1 in the second quarter with three more goals, including Xander Dickson’s second goal of the game. The teams twice alternated goals to finish the first half, as Brunswick took a 9-3 lead into the break.

 

Brunswick blew the game open in the third quarter, netting all four goals in the frame en route to a 13-3 advantage over the visitors. Dickson and Christian Ronda each notched their hat-trick goal in the frame, while Jack Montinaro and Jack Ocken each scored their second marker in the contest.

 

In the fourth quarter, the Bruins outscored the Cardinals by a 4-2 margin, completing the 17-5 Brunswick win.

 

Brunswick dominated the face-off X, winning 24-26 attempts. Jordan Ginder won 18-19 face-offs, while teammate Blake Burchill collected 6-7 wins for the Bruins. Brunswick starting goalie Patrick Burkinshaw played most of the game, as reserve keeper Will Prout saw time in front of the cage the fourth quarter.
