Brunswick no-hit St. Luke’s on Thursday, beating the Storm by a 12-0 margin in only five innings. The visiting Bruins collected just four hits, while drawing 10 walks and being hit six times by St. Luke’s pitchers. Following the win, Brunswick moves to 1-1 overall and stands at 1-0 in FAA action.
A pair of Brunswick pitchers combined to toss the five-inning no-hitter. Starting pitcher Reed Mascolo (1-0) picked up his first win at Brunswick, as the hurler struck out eight of the nine St. Luke’s batters he faced. Reliever Luke Fisher pitched the final two innings of no-hit baseball, adding two strike outs.
The Bruins scored runs in each inning, including three runs in the first, third, and fifth.
Aidan Redahan had two singles to pace Brunswick, while Aaron Sabato reached base safely in all four plate appearances, drawing four walks.
Ethan Hynes and James Sassi led the Bruins with two RBI apiece, as Trystan Sarcone, Sassi, Jake Hyde, Sabato, and Cole Mascolo each scored two runs.
