Brunswick rolled over Kent on Wednesday at Cosby Field, topping the Lions 18-0. With the league win, the fourth-ranked Bruins improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in NEW1 action. The victory was the first shutout win by a Brunswick team coached by David Bruce (193 games).
Thirteen different Bruins scored goals during the one-sided contest. Michael Mauricio led the team with three goals and one assist, while Xander Dickson added the opening goal and chipped in two first-quarter helpers.
All three goalies, including starter Patrick Burkinshaw and reserves Christian Barnard and Will Prout, collected saves in the combined shutout victory over the Lions (0-1, 0-1).
The Bruins return to action on Saturday, April 7, hosting league foe Loomis Chaffee at 4:00 p.m.
