Basketball Wins Regular Season Finale, Preps for FAA Tourney

Brunswick wrapped up the regular season with a win over FAA foe Greens Farms on Thursday in Dann Gym, 65-56. The Senior Day victory caps the Bruins’ season record at 5-16 overall and 4-10 in FAA play. Looking ahead to the FAA Tournament, the fifth-seeded Bruins travel to fourth-seed King on Tuesday, February 20, for a quarterfinal showdown.

Senior co-captains Graham Pierce (15 points) and Muna Nwana (14 points) led the way for the Brunswick offense, while classmates Harrison Caponiti and Brennan Troy added seven points and six points, respectively, in their final regular season game at Dann Gym. Nwana added a baker’s dozen in rebounds and five assists to lead the Bruins, as fellow senior Henry Ellison chipped in a solo helper.

Jack Molloy netted 10 points for Brunswick, as Khari Wilson chipped in nine points. Tristan Joseph rounded out the scoring for the Bruins with four points.

For the game, Brunswick held a decisive edge in rebounding over the Dragons, as the hosts held an eye-popping 42-18 advantage on the glass.

In the upcoming post-season contest, the Bruins lost both games to King during the regular season. Brunswick dropped a 67-57 road game back in December to the Vikings, and saw an early 15-point lead disappear at home on February 2, as King rallied for a 63-56 victory.

Game time for the FAA post-season contest at King is slated for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20.
