Brunswick held a 3-2 lead in the third period over host Albany Academy, but a game-tying, power-play goal by the Cadets later in the frame led to a 3-3 tie on Friday night. The draw gives the Bruins an overall mark of 10-9-4, and a NEPSIHA record of 9-8-4.
Albany (9-10-2, 6-9-2) twice took one-goal leads in each of the first two periods, but the Bruins countered with tying tallies.
Brunswick’s Ryan Carmichael knotted the game at 1-1 in the first frame, scoring his fourth goal at 11:29.
Following another Albany goal in the second period, the Bruins’ Jack Forrest made it a 2-2 game on his 11th marker at 17:36, as Christian LeSueur collected his team-leading 14th assist on the play.
Brunswick took the lead at the 2:51 mark in the third period, as Aaron Aboodi finished off a Carmichael blast.
After 11 minutes of scoreless play, the hosts tied the game at 3-3 on a power-play goal at 13:58.
Despite the added five minutes of added play for overtime, neither team scored.
