Brunswick placed three racers in the top six, as the Bruins went 4-2 in CISL on the slopes of Mt. Southington on Thursday. Ethan Hynes took second overall, as the Bruins improve to 7-4 on the season. A post-race disqualification kept the Bruins from sweeping all six head-to-head contests.
Brunswick’s total team time of 292.75, topped four of six schools in Thursday's race, as the Bruins were second to Greenwich H.S. (283.59) and Daniel Hand (290.59). Brunswick bested Amity H.S. (320.60), St. Luke’s (321.26), Cheshire Academy (346.58) and Guilford H.S. (363.40).
Hynes set the top time in the first run of the day (22.78) out of 96 finishers, holding a slight .04 second advantage over Griffin Smith from Southington. On the second run, Smith overtook Hynes with the fastest time of the day (20.84), edging Hynes by .28 seconds for the top spot overall.
Following Hynes two-run total of 43.94, Ian Murray finished fourth overall (44.76), as Jose Riera took sixth place (45.29). Ryan Henzerling (49.79) finished 20th and Jamie Meindl (51.45) held the 30th position out of more than 80 racers that finished both runs.
Brunswick (7-4) will return to Mt. Southington for another CISL race on Thursday, January 25.
