Trailing 1-0 in the first period at Hotchkiss, Brunswick ended the frame with a pair of goals, holding on to beat the Bearcats 2-1 on Monday. The win boosts the Bruins to 7-6-3 overall, while Hotchkiss falls to 1-8 on the season.
Brunswick’s Andy McBurney netted his first career goal, tying the game at 1-1 at the 8:00 mark of the first period. Three minutes later, Brendan Gregoire notched his first goal of the season, giving the Bruins a 2-1 lead.
With a minute to play in the third period, the Bearcats pulled their goalie for the extra skater to attempt to tie the game. However, the Brunswick defense, including goalie Dan Dachille (21 saves), held off the 6-on-5 attack for the 2-1 victory.
