Team Effort Gives Wrestlers the Crown at Battle of the Bay
Against 31 other teams at the two-day Battle of the Bay Tournament, Brunswick’s own team effort allowed the Bruins to win the tourney without a single individual champion. Brunswick’s 226.5 team points was 36.5 more points than second-place Northfield Mount Hermon (195).
The Battle on the Bay, hosted by Tabor Academy, brought 32 teams from seven different states.
Three Bruins, Chris Perry (120), Luca Errico (138) and Lachlan Rosato (220) worked their way to the finals, taking home silver medals and excellent team points for Brunswick.
Eight other Brunswick wrestlers came through the wrestle-backs to place in the top five, earning crucial bonus points with pins in the consolation bracket. Will Donovan (113), Nick Bell (132), Nadji Ngbokoli (145), Harry Fett (152) and Tim Saunders (182) each took third place, while John DeLucia (160) and Clayton Ostrover (170) finishes fourth. Jack Ocken (195), after a pair of pins to start the tournament, finished fifth in his weight class.
