Brunswick dropped a 2-0 decision to South Kent, the two-time defending New England and Top Drawer National Champions on Saturday.
South Kent (11-0) got on the board in the 9th minute, finishing off a free kick from the far-left side on a header.
Brunswick countered with a pair of strong scoring chances to net the equalizer later in the half. The Bruins broke through the South Kent defense in the 27th minute, but a header on goal sailed just over the crossbar. Later in the half, Brunswick earned another breakaway, pitting the Bruins against the South Kent goalie in a one-on-one situation, but the South Kent keeper was up to the challenge and denied the scoring chance.
South Kent earned some breathing room in the early stages of the second half, finishing off a rebound after a corner kick at the 56th minute to take a 2-0 advantage.
The Bruins (4-6-1) were outshot on the day, 11-3, as Brunswick goalie Harry Barringer made nine saves.
