Brunswick’s four-game winning streak came to an end at Salisbury on Wednesday, as the Crimson Knights rallied for a 4-3 win over the Bruins. Brunswick (4-5-1) held a 3-2 lead late in the contest, but a pair of goals sealed the comeback for the Crimson Knights.
Salisbury got on the board first, finishing a rebound save by Brunswick goalie Harry Barringer in the 7th minute for the lone goal of the first half.
The Bruins netted the equalizer in the second half, as Nick Boardman made it 1-1 contest in the 54th minute. After taking a long header from P.K. Keller, Boardman slipped through the defense and beat the Salisbury keeper to the bottom right side.
The Crimson Knights responded six minutes later with a goal after intercepting the ball deep in the Brunswick end.
Trailing 2-1, the Bruins netted the next two goals to take a 3-2 advantage by the 70th minute of action. Boardman notched his second goal of the game after finishing off a pass from Stevie Lopez with a header at the 65th minute. Five minutes later, Lopez gave the Bruins a 3-2 advantage with a scoring tally.
Brunswick could not hold on to its one-goal lead in the final 20 minutes, as Salisbury scored the final two goals of the game. The Salisbury striker accounted for both goals, including the tying goal in the 77th minute and the game-winner 10 minutes later.
Barringer finished with eight saves for Brunswick.
The Bruins head to South Kent on Saturday, October 21, for their next game.
