#12 Lacrosse Rallies Past Choate

Trailing 3-1 in the first quarter at Choate, Brunswick rallied for an 11-7 win against the Wild Boars on Wednesday. Alex Buckanavage, a newly-minted participant in this summer's Under-Armour Senior All-Star Game, finished with a team-high six points, including five goals for the 10-1 Bruins.

In a 3-1 first quarter hole, Buckanavage set-up Jimmy Heidt for a man-up tally before Matt Restieri tied the game at three with 2:04 left in the opening quarter. Choate closed out the frame with a go-ahead goal with 17 seconds left to take a 4-3 lead.

In the second quarter, Brunswick, ranked #12 in the latest Inside Lacrosse-Under Armour national poll, outscored the Wild Boars 3-1, as Buckanavage netted all three goals for the Bruins.

Leading 6-4 to start the third quarter, Brunswick used another 3-1 run and expanded its lead to 9-5. Heidt, Sean Morris, and Jack Ocken each added single tallies in the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Choate opened with a goal at 11:23 to close the gap to a three-goal deficit. However, Buckanavage shut the door on the Wild Boars with the final two goals of the game, as the Bruins left Wallingford with a 11-7 victory.

Patrick Burkinshaw made 11 saves in goal for Brunswick, as Ben Shapiro won 6/18 face-offs. Jack Montinaro led the Bruins with three groundballs, while Max Metalios and Restieri picked up a pair of rollers.
