Fifth Inning Rally Propels Bruins to Victory

Leading 2-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, Brunswick tacked on four runs en route to a 7-3 victory over King in FAA action on Tuesday. Looking ahead, Brunswick (5-0, 3-0) hosts Avon Old Farms in a non-league contest on Wednesday.
 
Santiago Riera gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the home half of the third inning, slapping a two-run single to center.
 
The Vikings countered with a run in the top of the fourth on a two-out single to slice the deficit to 2-1.
 
In the decisive fifth inning, both Aaron Sabato and James Sassi drove in a run, giving the Bruins a 4-1 lead, before pinch-hitter Patrick Ryan roped a double to right field to plate two more Bruins for a 6-1 advantage.
 
King cut the Brunswick lead to 6-3 in the sixth inning following a two-run single with two outs.
 
Aaron Sabato knocked in the final run of the game in the bottom half of the sixth inning on a sacrifice-fly, plating Riera from third to cap the scoring.
 
Charlie Sealy (3-0) nearly went the distance for Brunswick, tossing 6.2 innings and allowing three earned runs while striking out nine Vikings. Nick Mosher got the final out of the game in relief of Sealy on a ground-out. 
 
Trystan Sarcone led the Bruins from the plate with three singles, while Tommy Napolitano had a pair of hits, including a double while scoring two runs. Sabato added a pair of singles and two RBI, while Riera and Ryan each chipped in with two RBI apiece.
