Northwood topped Brunswick by a 5-0 margin on Saturday afternoon, ending the Bruins’ unbeaten streak at Hartong Rink at 11 games. Brunswick (15-9-4) gets back on the ice at Trinity-Pawling in the nightcap of the Empire Cup on Friday, February 24, playing the host school at 7:00 p.m.
Northwood, owners of an impressive 36-6-3 record, scored at least one goal in each period, handing the Bruins their first home defeat of the season (9-1-2).
In the opening frame, the Huskies netted a late goal on a tough angle to take a 1-0 lead. Northwood added a pair of goals in the second and third periods, earning the 5-0 victory at the home finale for Brunswick, ranked #9 in this week’s USHR.com prep hockey poll.
