Basketball Wins on Valentine's Day

Brunswick built a 30-22 lead at the half over Masters and held on to a 52-48 win in FAA action on Tuesday in Dann Gym. The league win gives the Bruins a 6-7 record in the FAA and moves them to 8-11 overall.

The two teams will have a rematch in an upcoming quarterfinals of the FAA tournament in the #4/#5 game on February 21. Brunswick (6-7) and Masters (7-6) each have one game remaining in league play to determine the higher seed and host for the game.

Countering a 41-28 rebounding advantage by Masters, including a 17-7 edge on the offensive glass, Brunswick forced Masters into 27 turnovers, 10 fewer turnovers than the Bruins committed.
 
Brunswick’s Muna Nwana led the Bruins with 13 points and five rebounds, while going 6-8 from the charity stripe. Charlie Sealy added a dozen points on 4-8 shooting from the field and a team high six rebounds.
