Brunswick won the 60th WNEISWA Championship at Salisbury on Saturday in record-setting fashion. The Bruins won their fourth-straight title, and 13th overall, with a whopping 293.5 team points, 72 more points than runner-up Trinity-Pawling.
While Brunswick broke its own scoring record of 286 points, set at last year’s event, the 13 team titles puts the Bruins one win ahead of Suffield’s 12 team victories. The four-peat also matches winning streaks set by Suffield and Loomis Chaffee.
Brunswick wrestlers placed in the top five in all 14 weight classes, winning four individual championships.
Individual titles were earned by co-captains Andrew Hennessy, Brooks Hennessy, Lachlan Rosato, and Aiden Reynolds. The Hennessy twins are rare two-time champions in the event, as Andrew won his in back-to-back years (2016, 2017), while Brooks took top honors in 2015 and 2017.
Up next for the Bruins is the NEISWA Championships, hosted by the Hyde School in Maine. The two-day tournament begins on Friday, February 17.
